Sex Offender Arrested After Toddlers Left in His Care Found Wandering Unsupervised

SPRING HILL, Fla. – A registered sex offender with prior convictions for lewd and lascivious offenses involving minors was arrested after deputies say two toddlers were found wandering unclothed and unsupervised in a Spring Hill neighborhood while left in his care. According to an arrest affidavit filed by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on June 6, 2026, after multiple calls reported the incident.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Jesse Tyler Johnson, of Spring Hill, on charges of two counts of child neglect and two counts of exposing himself to a child. Deputies found the two toddlers, ages 2 and 3, wandering alone and unclothed in the area of Spring Hill near 64th Street and 13th Avenue. Johnson reportedly told deputies that he had left the children unattended for about 30 minutes to go to the bathroom.

The incident is a disturbing case of neglect and exploitation, and authorities are urging anyone with information about potential victims to come forward. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is working to ensure the safety and well-being of the children involved.
