The Beverly Hills Knights of Columbus Council 6168 donated more than $77,000 to 12 Citrus County nonprofit organizations during its fraternal year 2025-26. The funds were distributed on June 20 at a workers dinner in Lecanto.
The charitable donations, which included $46,400 distributed on June 20, brought the total to more than $520,000 during the past 18 years. “Charity is our first principle as Knights of Columbus because it reflects the greatest act of charity of all time by Jesus Christ,” then-Grand Knight Mark Svestka of Pine Ridge said. The organizations that received funds include Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills; Daystar Life Center, Crystal River; the Pregnancy and Family Life Center of Citrus County, Inverness; Family Resource Center, Hernando; Citrus County Blessings, Hernando; Citrus County Veterans Foundation Inc., Inverness; Reading Pals; Family and Friends Reaching for the Abilities, Inverness; Our Lady of Good Counsel Camp, Floral City; Key Training Center, Crystal River; Special Olympics Florida; and the Boys & Girls Club.
The Council raised money by running bingo games twice weekly and conducting other fundraising events. This year’s donations will support various community programs and services in Citrus County.
