Woman Accused of Attacking Father with Hammer in Citrus County

A woman was arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly attacking her father with a hammer in Citrus County, Florida. According to authorities, the incident occurred on January 10, 2023, at a residence on Southeast 5th Avenue in Inverness. The victim, 64-year-old James Harrison, reported that his 40-year-old daughter, Ashley Harrison, attacked him with a hammer.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 10:30 a.m. on January 10, and deputies responded to the scene. Ashley Harrison was taken into custody and transported to the Citrus County Jail, where she was booked on charges of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and domestic violence.

The investigation revealed that Ashley Harrison and her father had a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. The victim suffered serious injuries, including lacerations to his head and body, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Ashley Harrison is being held on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 17, 2023.
