A Crystal River man was charged with animal cruelty after a puppy was found with severe injuries on January 15, 2023. According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, 22-year-old Jesse Tyler Hogan was arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty.
The puppy, a 3-month-old mixed-breed dog, was found on January 15, 2023, around 10:30 a.m., on Southeast 3rd Avenue in Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida. The animal had severe injuries, including multiple lacerations and a broken leg. The Citrus County Animal Control responded to the scene and transported the puppy to a local animal hospital for treatment.
Hogan was taken into custody and transported to the Citrus County Jail. He is being held on a $5,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing, and the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is seeking additional information from the public.
