A Brooksville man was arrested and accused of stealing an air conditioning unit from a coffee shop in Floral City, Citrus County, on August 22, 2023.
According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old Tyler Wayne Woods was taken into custody after a witness reported seeing him attempting to remove the air unit from the coffee shop on Northeast 1st Avenue in Floral City around 10:30 a.m. on August 22. Woods allegedly used a dolly to move the unit to his vehicle, a white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, and then drove away. The air unit was valued at approximately $1,200.
Woods was stopped by deputies a short distance away, and the stolen air unit was recovered. He was charged with grand theft and transported to the Citrus County Detention Center. Woods is being held on $2,500 bond.
