Three people were arrested on Tuesday after a dog dispute escalated into an alleged assault and gunfire in Lecanto. According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at 8515 S. Pine Ave.
The dispute began when a dog was allegedly shot at by one of the suspects, and then an altercation ensued. Two men, 22-year-old Austin James Rhodes and 20-year-old Dylan Cole Hearn, were arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and shooting at or into a dwelling or conveyance. A third person, 20-year-old Alexis Nicole Rhodes, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and took the three suspects into custody. No injuries were reported, but the incident is still under investigation.
The suspects were booked at the Citrus County Detention Center and are being held on $15,000 bond each.
