A storm system brought strong winds and rain to a Hudson neighborhood in Pasco County on Monday night, causing debris to fly across the area. Residents said they watched as the storm swept through their neighborhood around 10:30 p.m.
The Pasco County Emergency Management issued a tornado warning for the area, which was in effect from 10:04 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. on Monday. The National Weather Service reported a tornado was sighted near Hudson, moving northeast at 35 mph.
No injuries or fatalities were reported, but residents described the scene as chaotic. “It was like a mini tornado,” said one resident. “Trees were down, and debris was everywhere.” The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and emergency management officials are assessing the damage and providing assistance to affected residents.
Multiple trees were knocked down, and power lines were damaged, leaving some residents without electricity. The exact number of affected homes and businesses is not yet available. The American Red Cross and other agencies are on the scene, providing support to those in need.
