Severe storms moved into Pasco and Hernando counties on Tuesday afternoon. The storms brought heavy rain and strong winds to the area, causing power outages and property damage.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office reported multiple incidents of downed trees and power lines, as well as several flooded roads. The Hernando County Emergency Management office also reported several incidents of flooding and debris on the roads. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Pasco and Hernando counties at 3:45 PM, which expired at 4:30 PM. The warning included areas such as Hudson, Weeki Wachee, and Spring Hill.
Residents are advised to check on their neighbors, especially the elderly and those with disabilities, and to report any damage or outages to their utility companies. The American Red Cross has set up shelters for those displaced by the storms.
