Memorial Day events to commemorate the fallen in Citrus County

CRYSTAL RIVER, FL – Several Memorial Day events will be held in Citrus County to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. The events, which take place on Monday, May 27, will include ceremonies and parades in various locations throughout the county.

The City of Crystal River will hold its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 9:00 AM at the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, 3201 State Road 44, Crystal River, FL 34429. The ceremony will feature speakers, wreath layings, and a moment of silence to honor the fallen.

Additionally, the Citrus County Veterans Council will host a Memorial Day Parade at 10:00 AM, starting at the intersection of Northeast 1st Avenue and Northeast 5th Street in Crystal River, and proceeding down Northeast 5th Street to Northeast 1st Avenue.

  1. The Inverness Veterans Council Memorial Day Ceremony, 9:00 AM at the Inverness Veterans Park, 211 E. Main St., Inverness, FL 34450.
  2. The Citrus County School Board will hold a Memorial Day ceremony at 10:00 AM at the Citrus County School Board Office, 1301 E. Woodland Drive, Inverness, FL 34450.
