Jaguars Sweep Leopards in District Semifinals

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the Hernando Leopards played host to the Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars in the girls tennis regional semifinals at Hernando High School in Brooksville, Fla. The Navy and Gold would ultimately sweep the home team 4-0 that afternoon.

The visitors had a strong showing from top to bottom, with each player winning the first two sets in their respective bracket. Jaguars Tennis Head Coach Robert Quinn was “thrilled” with his team’s dominant performance and praised Hernando for an outstanding season. “Anytime you get to the playoffs is tough because you are playing, obviously, a team that won their district,” Coach Quinn said. “So, they are hot. We had to play well to win it, especially to win all 4-0.”

The match between the five seeds began the moment the two seeds had concluded theirs, as both coaching staffs agreed to end the final belated matchup early since the other sets had all ended in the Jaguars’ favor. With only four courts to play on at one time, the match concluded with a decisive victory for the Jaguars.

The Hernando Leopards’ season may be over, but they can hold their heads high after a great run. For more information on the Hernando Leopards or the Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars, visit their websites or follow them on social media.
