Food Programs Available in Citrus County

The Citrus County Veterans Coalition offers food assistance to honorably discharged veterans and their surviving spouses. The pantry is open every Tuesday year-round and the first and third Thursdays (except July 1 through September 1) of every month from 9 a.m. to noon at 1081 N. Paul St. Veterans can register on-site during these hours.

Other organizations providing food assistance include St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Citrus Springs, which offers free boxes of food; The Salvation Army, which operates a food pantry and serves hot meals; and North Oak Church, which provides food and other necessary items on the fourth Saturday of each month. The Salvation Army’s food pantry is open Monday through Thursday from 9-10:45 a.m. and 1-1:45 p.m. at 712 S. School Ave. in Lecanto. They also serve meals at Daystar in Crystal River every Tuesday and at the Lions Club in Homosassa every Wednesday.
