Inverness, FL – Dave Mohr, owner of the popular downtown distillery, died following an explosion on Monday night, March 18, 2024, around 10:30 p.m., at 205 E. Main St., Inverness. Authorities reported that Mohr, 51, was inside the building when it exploded.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Financial Services. The blast was felt throughout the downtown area, causing significant damage to Mohr’s distillery and nearby businesses. Mohr was a well-known figure in the community, and his distillery was a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
“We just love Trump, that’s all,” Mohr had said in a 2020 interview with a local newspaper, showcasing his patriotic spirit. However, the motive behind the explosion remains unknown. The Citrus County Chronicle reported that Mohr was a longtime Inverness resident and a familiar face in the community.
