An explosion and fire rocked the downtown Inverness distillery on Monday night, March 25, 2024, around 10:30 p.m. The incident occurred at the 1215 E. Main St., Inverness, Florida, location of the Citrus County Distillery.
The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and Inverness Fire Department responded to the scene. Authorities reported that no one was injured in the incident, but the explosion and fire caused significant damage to the distillery. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
The Inverness Fire Department was assisted by the Citrus County Fire Rescue and the Withlacoochee River Fire Department. The scene was cleared by early morning, and an investigation is ongoing.
