On Monday night, around 10:30 p.m., an explosion occurred in downtown Inverness, Citrus County. The blast was reported at 308 E. Main St., Inverness, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office.
The Inverness Fire Department and other emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist with rescue efforts. Multiple people were injured, and at least one person was taken to the hospital. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Bureau of Fire Prevention.
The community has come together to support those affected by the explosion. Local business owners and residents have offered assistance and resources to help with the recovery efforts. The City of Inverness has set up a relief fund to help support those impacted by the explosion.
Residents and business owners in the area are still shaken by the event but are grateful for the quick response of the emergency responders. “I’m just thankful that no one was killed,” said Inverness resident, Jane Doe. “The response from the firefighters and police was amazing.”
