Multiple support groups are meeting regularly across Citrus County to help residents dealing with mental health challenges, addiction recovery, and physical disabilities. The groups provide free resources and peer support for individuals and families throughout the region.
NAMI Citrus offers free Recovery Support Groups every Thursday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at the new Behavioral Resource Center at 4067 N. Lecanto Highway in Beverly Hills. The weekly groups provide a caring, supportive environment for adults living with mental health conditions as well as their family members and loved ones. The NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group offers participants empathetic peer guidance and the opportunity to build meaningful community connections in a safe, judgment-free space. Additionally, the NAMI Family Support Group provides families with valuable insight from adults who have experienced both the challenges and successes of supporting a loved one with behavioral health symptoms.
The CASH (Citrus Amputee Support Help) amputee support group meets from 5-6:30 p.m. the first Friday of every month at ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Lecanto, located at 3967 W. Norvell Bryant Highway in Lecanto. Organizer Donald Every can be reached at deveryclearskyhealth.com or by calling 352-464-0151 for more information about the monthly meetings.
Co-Dependents Anonymous (CoDA) also meets regularly in the area. CoDA is a Twelve Step Fellowship of people whose common purpose is to develop healthy relationships and overcome codependent behaviors. NAMI Citrus is committed to promoting hope, education, and community support for residents throughout Citrus County.
