SPRING HILL, Fla. – The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) Tennis Championships took place on Wednesday and Thursday at Delta Woods Park in Spring Hill, Fla. Local schools competed, with Nature Coast securing the boys’ doubles and overall team win, and tying with Springstead for the girls’ overall team win.
Central’s Jonathan Bunyon dominated in boys’ singles, earning the gold, while Springstead’s Nathaniel Singh took silver. Springstead’s top two seeds, Donatella Donis and Ryanna Lee, were victorious in the girls’ singles competition. Central Tennis Coach Tim Plumadore expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, noting that Amon Grimes had a close match and Bunyon lived up to expectations.
Several local players showcased their skills during the tournament. Weeki Wachee’s Brayden Collito, Bella Shields, Kaleb Page, and Hernando’s Snowanna Mazourek, along with Nature Coast’s Kylee Powers and Springstead’s Jonathan Marquis and Andre Bui, all participated in the competition.
The GCAC Tennis Championships featured five in-county schools competing in the event. The tournament results reflect the strong tennis programs in the area, with multiple schools achieving success.
