A Pasco County mother is praying for a miracle as her 10-year-old son remains in a coma nearly a week after he was struck by two vehicles while riding his bicycle.
The accident occurred on Thursday, March 14, around 3:30 p.m., at the intersection of State Road 54 and Grand Boulevard in New Port Richey, Pasco County. The 10-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, was riding his bicycle when he was hit by two vehicles. He was immediately taken to a local hospital and has been in a coma since the accident.
The mother, whose name also has not been released, is seeking support and prayers for her son’s recovery. "I just want my son to wake up and come home," she said in an interview with WFLA. The community has rallied around the family, offering support and prayers for the boy’s recovery.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident. Charges are pending.
