Nintendo Announces Remake of The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time

Nintendo’s June Direct presentation revealed a remake of The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, set to release in 2026 for the Nintendo Switch 2. The announcement was made on Tuesday, with a YouTube video description calling it “a legend, reborn.”

The remake appears to have received a complete top-down overhaul, including graphical quality. This new version may draw inspiration from recent “open air” titles like Breath of the Wild, or remain faithful to the original with minor tweaks and additions. Nintendo has already remade Ocarina of Time as Ocarina of Time 3D on the Nintendo 3DS in 2011.

Enhancing the highest rated video game of all time could be a challenge, but potential additions include restoring cut content, adding side quests, and fleshing out Hyrule’s settlements. This reveal aligns with a previous prediction made by the Hernando Sun.

For gamers in Hernando, Pasco, and Citrus counties, this news may spark excitement for the new release. Local gaming communities in Brooksville, Spring Hill, and New Port Richey may be particularly interested in discussing the remake.
