A Hernando County man faces multiple felony charges after battering his wife and attacking a responding deputy early Tuesday morning in the Riverdale subdivision. Jamie Lee Allison Jr., 36, was arrested at 33128 Patrice Road at approximately 12:04 a.m. after a violent domestic dispute that left his wife unconscious and injured on the floor.
A vigilant neighbor first alerted authorities by flagging down a Hernando County Sheriff’s Office deputy on nearby patrol. When the deputy knocked on the door, Allison answered covered in blood, with an unconscious and bloodied woman visible on the floor behind him. Allison immediately began punching the deputy and remained unfazed even after the deputy deployed 10 taser cartridges. The same neighbor who flagged down the deputy then joined the struggle and helped subdue Allison, allowing the deputy to take control of the situation.
Witnesses inside the home confirmed that Allison initiated the violence and battered the victim. The woman was transported to a local hospital, and Hernando Sun reports that Sheriff Al Nienhuis indicated she is expected to recover. The deputy was not injured during the altercation. Notably, Allison had already sustained two broken wrists before law enforcement arrived on scene. During the struggle, Allison also tore the deputy’s radio from his body.
Allison was charged with five felony counts stemming from the incident.
