In Citrus County, Florida, million-dollar home sales are becoming increasingly common. According to a review of Citrus County property records, 18 single-family homes sold for at least $1 million during the first six months of 2026. This puts the county on pace to nearly match last year’s record 38 seven-figure sales.
The luxury housing market in Citrus County has matured, with waterfront properties no longer dominating the million-dollar market by themselves. Exactly half of this year’s seven-figure transactions occurred on waterfront or lakefront property in Crystal River, Homosassa, and Inverness. The other half were scattered across inland communities, including Pine Ridge, Black Diamond, Terra Vista, and Floral City.
One recent example is a Crystal River waterfront home that sold for $1,049,000 in January 2026. The home, built nearly 30 years ago in 1988, has a floor living area of 2,099 square feet and a total square footage under roof of 2,929. It features three bedrooms and two baths.
Preliminary sales figures from the Realtors Association of Citrus County indicate that between 2,150 and 2,175 residential properties sold countywide during the first six months of the year. While the million-dollar transactions still represent less than 1 percent of all residential sales, they suggest a consistent segment of the real estate landscape.
