Civics Summer Camp for middle school students in Crystal River

The Old Homosassa Learning Center recently hosted a Civics Summer Camp for middle school students in Crystal River, Citrus County. The camp aimed to educate and engage young minds in the importance of civics and community involvement.

The camp took place from June 13 to June 17, 2022, at the Old Homosassa Learning Center. Students aged 11-14 participated in interactive sessions and activities designed to teach them about the basics of civics, including local government, law enforcement, and community service. The camp was organized by the Citrus County School District and the Old Homosassa Learning Center.

During the camp, students learned about the structure of local government, including the roles of the county commission, school board, and law enforcement agencies.
