The Pilot Club of Crystal River will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, at the American Legion Post 155, 6585 E. Gulf to Lake Highway, Crystal River. A primary point of business is to ensure everything is in place for the Aug. 8 Bunco Bash being sponsored with the American Legion Auxiliary Unit. The club needs a count of members who will be attending the event and who will be dropping off baskets. Another concern is the club’s calendar for 2027. The Pilot Club is a 501(c)(3) organization. Citrus Hills Women’s Club Inc. will host its Charity Drive-Thru from 9-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at 439 E. Norvell Bryant Highway, Hernando. CHWC is collecting for several local organizations, including CASA, Habitat for Humanity, Pet Meals, Carter Street Head Start School, and the Family Resource Center. Donations include items such as wipes, diapers, hand tools, pet food, children’s books, and nonperishable foods.
The following items are needed for each organization:
- CASA: Wipes, diapers, trash bags, body wash, conditioner, HE laundry detergent, honey, coffee/creamer, gal. size bags, crackers, kid snacks, drinks, juice, tea, and Lysol wipes/spray.
- Habitat for Humanity: Hand tools, tape measures, saws, and hammers/screwdrivers.
- Pet Meals: Unopened dog/cat food, pet treats, and kitty litter.
- Carter Street Head Start School: Children’s books and preschool toys.
- Family Resource Center: nonperishable foods, peanut butter and jelly, pasta/sauce, canned veggies/fruits/meats, chili, cereal, pancake mix/syrup, soups, coffee/creamer, juice, and hygiene products. New or gently used children’s clothes are also needed, and can be taken directly to the Family Resource Center.
