Citrus County residents can meet local candidates at various events in the coming weeks. Holly Herndon, candidate for Citrus County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) District 4, will meet the public at 10:30 a.m. on July 28 at Joe’s Family Restaurant, 1754 U.S. 41, Inverness. Stacey Worthington, candidate for BOCC District 2, will continue Citrus First Conversations on Thursday, July 30, from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters in Inverness, and on Friday, July 31, from 8-10 a.m. at Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters in Hernando.
The Democratic Women’s Club of Citrus County (DWCCC) will meet on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 1 p.m. at the Lakes Region Library, 1511 Druid Road, Inverness. The club is open to all registered Democrats, and Chris Irizarry, U.S. House Democratic candidate for the upcoming primary for District 15, will be a guest. The Nature Coast Republican Club (NCRC) will meet on Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Beverly Hills Community Building, 1 Civic Circle. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the meeting starts at 6 p.m. Guest speakers will include candidate Jennifer Holly Grogan for BOCC, District 4, candidate Heather Dixon for Citrus County Community Charitable Foundation, and Mike Mullen, District 3 Citrus County School Board bipartisan candidate.

Florida Governor Bobby Williams, a conservative Republican, will be the guest speaker at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, at the Old Homosassa Civic Club, 5530 S. Mason Creek Road. The public is invited to attend.
The City of Inverness Elections will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, in conjunction with state and county General Elections. Council Seat No. 1, Seat No. 3, Seat No. 5, and mayor will be open for election in November, with the successful candidates taking office on Dec. 1.
