On Saturday afternoon, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR) teamed up to rescue five baby ducks stuck in a storm drain near Oak Hill Hospital in Hernando County. Deputies and first responders from HCFR Engine 12 responded to the scene and safely removed the ducklings from the drain, reuniting them with their mother.
This rescue effort follows a similar incident in Pasco County earlier in the week, where Pasco County Fire Rescue first responders removed 16 ducklings from a storm drain in New Port Richey on Thursday. The Hernando County incident showcases the collaborative efforts of local emergency services in responding to unique rescue situations.
