On Monday, July 6, two men were found dead in the area of Commercial Way and Cortez Boulevard near Nativity Lutheran Church in Hernando County, sparking social media rumors that the two incidents were connected. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) quickly dispelled those rumors, emphasizing that there were two separate and unrelated death investigations being conducted.
According to the HCSO, deputies were first called to the area to respond to a nude man acting erratically, who experienced what was believed to be a medical emergency. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead. During that investigation, a second deceased man was found in a nearby tent. The investigation into his death remains ongoing. The HCSO stated that no foul play was suspected and there was no threat of danger to the public.
