Jolie Miller, a former Springstead High School tennis star, has been selected for the USTA Coaching Serving All: Aspiring Coaches powered by WeCOACH program. Miller, who played for Florida Southern College, was one of 30 participants nationwide chosen for the program, which aims to help female college tennis players enter the coaching ranks.
Miller won back-to-back district singles titles for the Eagles in 2021 and 2022, earning an automatic berth into the state tournament both years. She reached the final of the Class 3A individual girls bracket at states in 2021. During her college career at Florida Southern College, she accumulated a 25-14 singles record and a 40-21 doubles mark. Miller’s college coach, Trish Riddell, encouraged her to apply for the program, which she believes will provide a good network of women coaches and potentially expedite her journey into coaching.
The program includes online seminars, which have already provided Miller with a sense of community and belonging among women with similar experiences and goals. While she’s unsure where the program will lead, Miller is optimistic about the opportunities it may bring.
