Earthquake Shakes Buildings in Havana and Florida, Public Shelters Open

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck near Cuba on Monday night, causing shaking in buildings in Havana and parts of Florida, including Citrus County.

The earthquake occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The shaking was felt in several counties in Florida, including Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco. In response to the earthquake, public shelters have been opened in Citrus County for residents to seek safety.
