Residents of Citrus County are speaking out on various local issues, from concerns about commercial gimmicks to traffic congestion and development.
In a letter to the editor of the Citrus County Chronicle, one resident expressed frustration with TV commercials that offer products or services with delayed payment plans. The resident questioned the motives behind these plans, suggesting that they may be designed to take advantage of customers who may not be able to afford the products or services in the long run.
Another resident called for the retiming of the traffic light at the intersection of South Pleasant Grove Road and State Road 44, citing congestion and long wait times during morning rush hour. The resident reported having to wait through four lights to get through the intersection, with only a few cars passing through before the light turned red again.
The Citrus County Commission meeting was also a topic of discussion, with one resident expressing disappointment and disgust at the behavior of Chamber CEO Josh Wooten. The resident advocated for slowing down on development in the area, specifically mentioning opposition to a data center and asphalt plant.
