On May 19, a 46-year-old Brooksville man, Neil Roundtree Jr., was arrested by the United States Marshals Service and the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a 2025 shooting and armed carjacking outside of a local bar in Brooksville, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Roundtree, who has an extensive criminal history, was taken into custody without incident. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office did not provide further details on Roundtree’s criminal history or the circumstances surrounding the arrest. The incident occurred on an unspecified date in 2025, and the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office did not provide additional information on the victim or the vehicle involved in the armed carjacking.
