A Spring Hill man, 35, is facing felony charges after deputies say he intentionally threw a blood-filled IV at a hospital nurse, causing blood to splatter onto her face and into her eyes. The incident occurred on March 31, 2026, at Oak Hill Hospital on Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville.
According to a Hernando County Sheriff’s Office report, the suspect, whose name has not been released, was being treated at the hospital when he became violent and threw the IV bag at the nurse. The nurse suffered injuries and was treated at the hospital. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
The suspect is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center on charges of aggravated battery on a healthcare provider and disorderly conduct. The incident is still under investigation.
