Wesley Chapel Captures SAC Track Championship

WESLEY CHAPEL, Pasco County , With one of the top sprinters in the country leading the way, the Wesley Chapel boys stormed to a Sunshine Athletic Conference East track and field championship last week.

The Warriors were led by senior sprinter, Noah Pineo, and junior distance runner, Tyler Anderson, and junior hurdler, Tyler Johnson. Pineo won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.23 seconds and the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.69 seconds. Anderson won the 3200-meter run with a time of 9:04.31 and the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:04.31. Johnson won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.21 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 51.35 seconds.

The Warriors scored 184 points to win the championship, ahead of second-place finisher, Zephyrhills, which scored 121 points. The championship was held at the Zephyrhills Municipal Stadium on Zephyrhills, FL 33547, located at 8135 North Tampa St, Zephyrhills, FL 33547.

The Wesley Chapel boys’ track and field team has been training hard for this moment, and their efforts paid off. “We are thrilled with our performance,” said Warriors coach, Mike McCallum. “Our athletes have worked tirelessly to prepare for this championship, and it’s great to see them reap the rewards of their hard work.”

The Sunshine Athletic Conference East track and field championship is one of the most competitive events in the area, featuring top athletes from Pasco County and surrounding areas.
