On Monday night, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) responded to a report of an alligator attack in Citrus County. The incident occurred at a location near 1100 South Pine Avenue, Inverness.
According to FWC, the alligator involved in the attack was captured and removed by their team. The FWC also caught another alligator in the same area as a precautionary measure. The ages and sizes of the alligators were not immediately released.
The FWC encourages residents to be aware of their surroundings and report any alligator sightings to their hotline at 866-392-4286. The commission also reminds the public that alligators are wild animals and should be treated with caution.
