A Spring Hill woman, whose name has not been released, has been arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child following an investigation into the death of her infant daughter late last year, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the arrest affidavit, deputies responded to a 911 call reporting an unresponsive infant at the 8000 block of Folkstone Street in Spring Hill on December 27, 2023, around 10:30 a.m. Investigators say the infant was pronounced dead at the scene. The Hernando County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy and determined the cause of death was non-accidental trauma. The suspect was taken into custody on January 15, 2024, and is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center.
