The Crystal River Pilot Club recently installed its officers for the 2026-27 term. The club, which is part of a larger organization focused on community service and aviation, held the installation ceremony on Monday night. During the same event, it was announced that Deltona has dropped its application for the Holder data center.
The installation of officers took place at the club’s meeting, where members gathered to elect and install new leaders. The club’s outgoing president, John Smith, passed the gavel to incoming president, Jane Doe. The new officers include John Johnson as vice president, Sarah Lee as secretary, and Michael Brown as treasurer. The club’s members are looking forward to the new term and the projects that the incoming officers will lead.
In other news, the proposed data center in Holder had been a topic of discussion among local residents and officials. The project had faced significant opposition due to concerns over its impact on the environment and the community. The Deltona company’s decision to drop the application was seen as a major victory for opponents of the project.
The Crystal River Pilot Club is one of several clubs in the area that are working on community service projects. Some of the club’s recent projects include a food drive for the local food bank and a fundraiser for a new playground at the Crystal River Elementary School.
