Firefighters Trade Helmets for Teapots in Crystal River

In a unique event, firefighters from Crystal River and other local departments traded their helmets for teapots to participate in a charity tea event. The event, which took place on Saturday, February 17, at the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, aimed to raise funds for local charities.

The Citrus County Chronicle reported that the event, called “Firefighters and Friends Tea,” featured firefighters and their families serving tea and baked goods to attendees. The event was organized by the Crystal River Fire Department and the Citrus County Fire Rescue Department. According to the organizers, the event raised over $1,000 for local charities.

The event also featured a silent auction, with items donated by local businesses and individuals. Some of the items up for auction included firefighting memorabilia, gift certificates, and artwork. All proceeds from the auction went towards supporting local charities.

In related news, the Deltona City Council recently dropped its application for a new water treatment plant, and a proposed data center in the area has been met with significant opposition. However, these developments are not directly related to the firefighters’ tea event.
