Atonement Lutheran Church in Pasco County is reopening its sanctuary nearly two years after Hurricane Milton caused significant damage. The church, located at 42427 Spring Hill Dr, Spring Hill, Florida, will hold a celebration on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.
The church members faced uncertainty about their place of worship after the hurricane hit on January 16, 2022. The storm caused substantial damage to the sanctuary, leaving the congregation wondering if they would ever be able to worship there again. However, after months of planning and renovations, the church is now ready to reopen its doors. The reopening celebration will include a special worship service and a community event.
The church has been working diligently to restore the sanctuary to its original state. With the help of insurance funds and donations from the community, Atonement Lutheran Church was able to complete the necessary repairs. The congregation is excited to be reunited in their sanctuary and to continue their worship and community activities.
According to Pastor John Smith, “We are thrilled to be reopening our sanctuary and to be able to worship together as a community again. This has been a long and challenging journey, but we are grateful for the support of our members and the community.” The church invites everyone to join them for the celebration and to see the restored sanctuary.
