The Citrus County Library System is turning the page to a new chapter with several changes and updates. On Monday, January 22, the library board of trustees met to discuss the future of the library system, which serves the residents of Citrus County, including Inverness, Crystal River, and Homosassa.
The meeting, held at 3:00 PM at the Citrus County Library Administrative Office, located at 2050 SE 5th St, Inverness, FL 34470, focused on discussing the library’s strategic plan and budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The library’s current strategic plan is set to expire, and a new plan is being developed to guide the library’s services and programs over the next few years.
The library system is comprised of three branches: the Inverness Branch, the Crystal River Branch, and the Homosassa Branch. The libraries offer a variety of programs and services, including book clubs, author talks, and children’s storytime. The libraries also provide access to digital resources, such as e-books and online databases.
Some of the proposed changes include expanding the library’s hours of operation, adding new programs and services, and improving the library’s technology infrastructure. The library is also exploring the possibility of partnering with other local organizations to provide additional resources and services to the community.
The library board of trustees is expected to make a decision on the new strategic plan and budget at their next meeting, scheduled for February 19, at 3:00 PM at the same location.
