A 19-year-old New Port Richey man was killed in a motorcycle crash on April 19, around 4:30 a.m., when his Kawasaki hit a pickup truck turning left at an intersection in Tarpon Springs. The motorcyclist was riding east on Anclote Boulevard at high speed when a Ford F-150 heading north on Industrial Boulevard turned left into his path, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The pickup truck’s driver, a 33-year-old Holiday man, was not injured in the crash. The motorcyclist died at the scene, but his name was not released. This incident is part of a recent surge in motorcycle-related fatalities in Pasco County, where five motorcyclists were killed in crashes within a week.
