A 27-year-old New Port Richey man will serve 10 years in prison after accepting a plea agreement Thursday on charges of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior and Child Abuse after he impregnated a young teenage girl between the ages of 12 and 16.
According to the affidavit, detectives began investigating after the juvenile reportedly disclosed during a medical appointment in February 2023 that she had been impregnated by the defendant. The incident occurred in Pasco County, Florida. The defendant, whose name has not been released, will serve 10 years in prison as part of his plea agreement.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office worked together on the case, which was prosecuted by the Hernando County State Attorney’s Office. The case highlights the importance of reporting suspicious activity and the consequences of such serious crimes.
