Growing up in Hernando County, Tyler Bergantino was known for his impressive height, standing at 6’9″. He was a star basketball player at Challenger K-8 and later dominated on the court at Nature Coast, averaging 15.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 5.0 blocks for the Sharks from 2008 to 2012. However, Bergantino’s true passion lay elsewhere – in making videos. He began creating skits and recording videos on his mom’s VHS camera at the age of 4 and always envisioned himself as an actor.
Bergantino’s basketball dreams didn’t materialize as he had hoped, but he didn’t let that stop him from pursuing his other passion. He turned his height and video-making skills into a lucrative career as a digital creator, traveling the country and rubbing shoulders with celebrities, including NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Bergantino’s project, Tall Tours, involves visiting cities and meeting tall men and women to discuss the pros and cons of their exceptional height while creating engaging content for social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
Bergantino’s journey has taken him to various cities, where he seeks out individuals with extraordinary height to share their experiences. Through Tall Tours, he has built a community of like-minded individuals who can relate to the unique challenges and advantages that come with being exceptionally tall. Bergantino’s content has resonated with audiences, allowing him to connect with people from all walks of life and establish meaningful relationships with his subjects.
As a digital creator, Bergantino has found success and fulfillment in his work. He credits his height for leading him to this path, saying, “It’s almost like it forced its way out and this is always what I’ve been meant to do. It’s both a securing feeling, to where I feel like I know what I’m supposed to be doing. But at the same time, a lot of pressure, but it’s like, ‘Hey, now you’ve got to make it happen.'” Bergantino’s story serves as an inspiration to those who may feel that their dreams aren’t unfolding as planned, showing that it’s never too late to pursue a new passion and find success.
