A 23-year-old man was arrested Monday night after leading troopers on a high-speed pursuit while under the influence of marijuana in Pasco County. The pursuit reached speeds of over 130 mph.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Monday. The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver, whose name has not been released, was traveling on State Road 54 in Hudson when he was stopped for a traffic violation. During the stop, troopers detected marijuana on the driver and determined he was impaired. The driver fled the scene, leading troopers on a pursuit that reached speeds of 130+ mph. The driver was eventually apprehended without incident.
The driver faces charges of DUI and fleeing from law enforcement. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
