The city of Crystal River is expanding its Saturday Night in Town Square concert series with new dates and a lineup of monthly events. The series, which features live music, vendors, and family activities, has been a success since its inception, inspired by concerts in Inverness.
The city recently announced four new concert dates stretching into November. The events are free and aim to bring more people into Town Square, supporting local businesses and showcasing the community. The city is also investing in a $135,805 Apex portable sound stage, paid for entirely through $157,500 in pledged sponsorships from private donors. Community Engagement Director Madeline Scarborough said, “We’re excited to continue building on the momentum of this series. The goal has always been to create a welcoming, family-friendly environment that brings people together, supports our local businesses and adds energy to our Town Square. Offering these events free of charge allows us to make them accessible to everyone while showcasing what makes our community special.”
The concert series has been a collaboration between city officials, local businesses, and residents. City Manager Audra Curts proposed the idea of a city-owned stage last year, which will end the need to repeatedly rent equipment for larger events. The expansion of the concert series is expected to have a positive impact on local businesses and residents.
The new concert dates are in addition to the existing monthly events, which have been well-received by the community. The city is promoting the events through social media and local advertising to ensure a strong turnout.
