The Citrus County Chronicle recently announced its 2026 All-Chronicle Softball Team, honoring the top players in the area. The team was selected based on their outstanding performance during the 2026 season.
The selection process involved a combination of factors, including team wins, individual statistics, and overall impact on the game. The Citrus County Chronicle’s sports editor, Matt Pfiffner, and correspondent Chris Bernhardt Jr. worked together to choose the best players from the county. The team includes players from various high schools and clubs in Citrus County, showcasing the county’s rich softball talent.
The 2026 All-Chronicle Softball Team features:
- Sydney Smith, Crystal River High School, a 17-year-old standout player who led her team to a 20-5 record and a spot in the district championships.
- Emily Johnson, Citrus High School, a 16-year-old sensation who hit .425 with 10 home runs and 30 RBIs.
- Maddie Rodriguez, Withlacoochee High School, an 18-year-old pitcher who threw a perfect game in the regional playoffs.
