The Citrus County Thespians had a remarkable year, showcasing their talents through various successful performances and competition wins. The group, comprised of students from Citrus County high schools, performed exceptionally well at the Florida State Thespian Festival.
On January 15, 2023, the Citrus County Thespians attended the Florida State Thespian Festival, held at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. During the event, they earned multiple awards and recognition for their performances. The group won a total of 14 awards, including Best Performance and several individual awards.
The Citrus County Thespians’ success can be attributed to their hard work and dedication. The group is led by director Karen Maxwell, who has been instrumental in guiding the students throughout the year. The thespians also received support from their schools, families, and the Citrus County School District.
In addition to their performance at the Florida State Thespian Festival, the Citrus County Thespians also had a successful year locally. They performed in several shows, including “The Wizard of Oz” and “Grease,” which were well-received by audiences.
