The Arc Nature Coast will host its annual Spring Lake Memorial Classic 2-Mile / 5K / 10K race on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at its Brooksville campus located at 5283 Neff Lake Road. The races begin at 7:30 a.m. and offer participants three distance options while supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities served by the organization.
Registration is now open with entry fees starting at $25 for the 2-mile event. The racecourse winds through shaded, tree-lined roads and rolling hills in eastern Hernando County, featuring canopies of oak and magnolia trees. Participants may spot native wildlife including hawks, deer, and wild turkeys during the scenic but challenging route.
Known as one of Florida’s most demanding race experiences, the Spring Lake Memorial Classic course features significant hills and elevation changes that test runners and walkers alike. The event welcomes families and community members of all fitness levels, with proceeds directly benefiting The Arc Nature Coast’s programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The race showcases the natural beauty of Hernando County while providing a meaningful way for the community to support local disability services. Participants can expect a physically demanding but rewarding experience through some of the area’s most picturesque terrain, making it a unique addition to the local racing calendar.
