Suspect at large after shooting man during attempted burglary in Hudson

An attempted burglary at a home in Hudson Wednesday night ended with a man shot and a suspect on the run, according to deputies.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night at a home in Hudson, Pasco County. The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office reported that the attempted burglary happened around 10:30 p.m. Deputies said the homeowner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was confronted by the suspect during the attempted burglary. The homeowner, in self-defense, shot the suspect. The suspect fled the scene, and the homeowner called 911.

The victim, a 28-year-old man from Hudson, was shot and injured during the incident. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect’s identity has not been released, and authorities are still searching for him.
