The Nature Coast Tech Sharks extended their winning streak to six games with a dominant 10-0 victory over the Weeki Wachee Hornets in five innings on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Shark Tank in Spring Hill. The Sharks improved to 11-3 on the season while the Hornets fell to 3-10, as Nature Coast put up five runs in the opening frame to set the tone for the run-rule victory.
Junior Miranda Wiemer led the offensive charge for the Sharks, recording three RBIs on two hits including a double while maintaining her impressive .500 batting average for the season. Wiemer bookended the scoring with RBIs in both the first and fifth innings, including the game-winning run that sealed the mercy rule victory. “Miranda’s been hot all season. She has been our leading hitter. She is hitting around five hundred, doing a really good job at the plate. Real happy with it,” said Coach Olmstead.
The victory marked another dominant performance for the Columbia Blue, who have outscored their opponents 65-2 during their current six-game winning streak. The Sharks’ offensive explosion included contributions from multiple players, with Senior Reagan Wilkie also driving in a run during the contest. The team’s consistent offensive production has been a key factor in their successful season.
Nature Coast Tech’s pitching staff continued their strong performance, shutting out Weeki Wachee completely while limiting the Hornets’ offensive opportunities throughout the shortened contest. The Sharks’ ability to score early and often has become a trademark of their recent success, allowing them to control games from the opening innings and secure quick victories through the mercy rule.
