Inverness to Vote on Skate Park Plan

The Inverness City Council will vote on a skate park plan at their meeting on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 6:00 PM, at the Inverness City Hall, 301 E. Main St., Inverness, Florida.

The proposed skate park would be located at 1005 E. Highland Ave., Inverness, Florida, and would feature a variety of ramps, bowls, and street-style features for skaters of all ages and skill levels. The project is expected to cost around $250,000, with funding coming from a combination of city funds and grants. The skate park would be open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and would be patrolled by city police and park rangers.

The Inverness City Council has been discussing the skate park plan for several months, and has held multiple public meetings to gather input from residents. The plan has received support from local youth and skateboarding enthusiasts, but has also faced opposition from some residents who are concerned about noise and safety issues.

If approved, construction on the skate park could begin as early as April 2024, with a projected completion date of late summer 2024.
