Hundreds of people gathered in Citrus County on Friday to celebrate the county’s first responders during the annual Citrus County First Responders Luncheon. The event, held at the Citrus County Expo, recognized the bravery and dedication of local law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, and other first responders.
The luncheon, which has become a tradition in Citrus County, featured a keynote address by a local official and included the presentation of awards to outstanding first responders. In addition to the recognition of first responders, the event also included an update on the county’s economic development, which will be losing its director.
During the event, Citrus County officials announced that the county’s economic development director will be leaving their position. The director has been instrumental in bringing new businesses and jobs to the area and has played a key role in the county’s economic growth.
