Crystal River’s Scarecrow Fest Rescheduled for Halloween, Oct. 31

Crystal River’s annual Scarecrow Fest has been postponed due to inclement weather and rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31, organizers announced. The festival, originally set for this past Saturday, will now fall on Halloween, giving the community-favorite event an extra festive twist.

With the new date landing on Halloween, organizers are encouraging all participating vendors to bring candy for festivalgoers. The change adds a seasonal bonus to the already popular fall celebration, which draws families from across Citrus County each year.

Vendors who cannot participate on Oct. 31 have an alternative option. Organizers will allow those vendors to apply their Scarecrow Fest payment toward the Tree Lighting Festival, scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 4. Anyone needing additional accommodations is asked to reach out the week following the postponement announcement so organizers can work together on the best solution for each vendor.

The city thanked the public for its flexibility and understanding as organizers navigate the weather-related change. Community members and vendors alike are encouraged to mark their calendars for the Halloween date and help make the rescheduled event a success.
